OAKLAND - For Ursula Dickson, her work as a juvenile dependency judge has meant late nights reading voluminous files that recount the broken lives of the abused and neglected children that come to her courtroom. And while it is a heavy responsibility to find them a safe and loving home, she feels energized headed to court in the mornings knowing she is doing important work.
