RANCHO CUCAMONGA - In November 2013, after a full 20 years on the bench, San Bernardino County Superior Court Judge Shahla S. Sabet retired.

Five months later, she came back, full time. "The supervising judge called me, 'Come back. We're short-handed,'" she recalled.
