LOS ANGELES - Steeped in civil rights cases since her law school days, U.S. Magistrate Judge Carla M. Woehrle was a natural fit to mediate lawsuits stemming from Los Angeles' 2007 May Day melee, according to lead counsel on both sides of the dispute.
