Michael J. Mulvihill Jr. was a San Joaquin County deputy district attorney when he found himself doing something unusual during trial. He was objecting to testimony delivered by his own witnesses, in response to his own questions. The reason was simple. The defendant chose to represent himself, and Mulvihill didn't think he was objecting when he should be.
