COMPTON - Few jurists in the country hear as many serious violent crime cases as Judge Arthur Lew.

Presiding over a long-cause criminal calendar in Los Angeles County Superior Court's Compton courthouse, Lew deals with a regular barrage of crimes - from murder, to sexual assault to battery.
