SAN FRANCISCO - Tracie L. Brown was on maternity leave from her job at the U.S. attorney's office in San Francisco when Gov. Jerry Brown's office asked her to come to Sacramento for an interview to serve on the bench.
It was May 2013 and, at the time, Tracie Brown was fully focused on caring for her newborn daughter who had just turned three months of age.
