SAN LUIS OBISPO - California Rule of Court 10.502, which governs the "judicial sabbatical pilot program," allows a judge or justice to take up to four months of paid leave provided he or she has been on the bench at least seven years, hasn't taken leave during that time and agrees to stay on the bench at least three more years upon his or her return.
