BAKERSFIELD - Judge Jon E. Stuebbe vividly recalls the bemused expression on Charles Poochigian's face when Stuebbe appeared in his Sacramento office for a pre-bench interview.
Poochigian, now a 5th District Court of Appeal justice, was Gov. Pete Wilson's judicial appointments secretary at the time.
"'I just wanted to see what you look like,'" Poochigian told Stuebbe.
