When Alan V. Pineschi took the bench 10 years ago, he went from the hustle-bustle of a small city to the relative calm of a mountain community.
Pineschi, who is the only judge serving the north Lake Tahoe area, ran a sole practice in Roseville until the Placer County Board of Supervisors named him to the Tahoe Justice Court in September 1986.
