SAN BERNARDINO — While many people took up new hobbies during the COVID-19 pandemic, Commissioner Dina I. Amani mastered hers by earning a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

She received her certification from Kukkiwon, the Tae Kwon Do world headquarters in Seoul, in March, and proudly displays her certificate on one of her chamber bookshelves.

But she’s one step behind her two teenage sons.
