VICTORVILLE — Before throwing his hat into the metaphorical ring for a spot on the bench, Commissioner Scott E. Seeley was a wrestling coach.

After taking the job at Victor Valley College in 2005, he led the wrestling team to a state championship.

Seeley himself had a college athletic scholarship in the same sport.
