The decedent who was the subject of litigator Kimberly A. Valentine's first elder abuse trial died at age 104.

"People thought I was crazy," Valentine said. "But we got a seven-figure result, and we got a punitive damage finding, so people stopped telling me that a great defense to their cases was the decedent was old, sick and dying."
