Closure of Arter & Hadden Helps Other Firms Expand
By John Ryan California law offices continue to benefit from the collapse of Cleveland's Arter & Hadden. Citing costly attrition and burdensome real estate commitments, managers closed the firm July 15. The number of attorneys at Arter & Hadden had dropped from 470 in 1999 to 250 this year.
