Retrial Ends in a Second Murder Conviction
RANCHO CUCAMONGA - Disregarding defense allegations that the case was politically motivated, a jury Wednesday convicted an Ontario man of arranging the murders of his wife and stepdaughter nearly 17 years ago. Jaitsen Singh, 55, originally was found guilty of the crimes in 1986 and sentenced to 56 years to life in prison. A federal appeals court reversed the convictions in 1998 after finding that prosecutor Dennis L. Stout deliberately suppreswsed evidence of agreements he made with a key witness.
