Oaktree Capital Group LLC turned to Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP for its proposed $100 million initial public offering. Los Angeles partner Thomas A. Wuchenich led for Oaktree Capital. Friday?s filing revealed the investment firm manages over $85 billion in assets as of the end of this year's first quarter. At the end of 2008, that number was under $50 billion.
