AB 51 injunction remains, while speedy trial briefing schedule is set

A preliminary injunction against the California law banning arbitration as a condition of employment remained in place after a federal court hearing on Friday that focused on contract formation, choice of forum and preemption.

SACRAMENTO -- A preliminary injunction against the California law banning arbitration as a condition of employment remained in place after a federal court hearing on Friday that focused on contract formation, choice of forum and preemption.

But the judge who granted the injunction set up an expedited briefing schedule with the goal of moving the challenge to AB 51 to a speedy conclusion.
