Judge Daniel J. Buckley is retiring from the Los Angeles County complex court

Former presiding judge particularly enjoyed helping parties reach agreements in sprawling litigation in the county’s complex case department.

Judge Daniel J. Buckley, who has tried and settled some of the most complex litigation in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, is retiring after 20 years. May 2 is his last day on the court.

"It is odd for me to decide to retire because I always thought they'd carry me out of here," Buckley said this week.
